Internships at the DHI Rome

Every year, the German Historical Institute in Rome awards several six-week internships to students of history or music history, mainly of higher semesters, whose studies are focused on the field of German-Italian relations or Italian history.

Roman Studies Course 29 September – 6 October 2024

The call for applications for this year's Roman Studies Course, which will take place in Rome from 29 September to 6 October 2024, is open until 31 May 2024. It is addressed to advanced students and doctoral candidates in the subjects of history and music history. Sicilian-born composer Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725) worked mainly in Rome and Naples, with great success. His music was also appreciated in other parts of Italy, and Scarlatti's varied and extensive oeuvre had a formative influence on the country’s musical culture around the year 1700.
