Main research interests
German-Italian entanglements in 19th- and 20th-century musical culture; international early music movements in Italy during the 19th and 20th centuries; transnational music historiography and image-building; clichés of Italy in popular music and media (across musical genres); Alfredo Casella as composer, conductor, editor and promotor of (inter)national music history; Johann Friedrich Rochlitz and aesthetic canonization processes; Pierre Boulez in the United States; music history in relation to Musikvermittlung (music mediation)
