Elena Maria Artisi, born in Berlin in 1997, began her studies in musicology at the University of Vienna in 2017, after two semesters in the young artists programme at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen. In 2020, she received her B.A. with honours, and is currently in the second semester of her Master's at the University of Vienna. She has been a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes since February 2019. During her studies, she has taken part in the Studienkolleg of the Beethoven-Haus Bonn and spent the 2020 summer semester at La Sapienza Università di Roma on an Erasmus+ scholarship. At the University of Vienna, she has worked as a tutor for composition and general music theory. In addition to her studies, Elena Maria Artisi works as an Assistant Director at various opera houses and festivals, including the Theater an der Wien, the Innsbrucker Festwochen für Alte Musik and the Theater Vorpommern. She also carries on her own projects as a director in the field of opera and theatre. Since March 2021 she has been working for the German Historical Institute in Rome as part of the MovItalia project.
