Our services and study places in our reopened Reading Room are available throughout the summer. The extended opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 7 pm. We look forward to your registration at bibliothek[at]dhi-roma[dot]it.
 
The institute will be closed on 15.8.2024 (Ferragosto).   

The Ludwig and Margarethe Quidde Fellowship supports a research stay in Rome, which is intended to support independent scientific work. It is aimed at young researchers who have completed their PhD and are distinguished by particularly outstanding academic achievements in the fields of history or musicology. Sicilian-born composer Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725) worked mainly in Rome and Naples, with great success. His music was also appreciated in other parts of Italy, and Scarlatti's varied and extensive oeuvre had a formative influence on the country’s musical culture around the year 1700.
